SWEDISH MASSAGE

Swedish massage is the basis for many forms of massage. It uses long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the muscles, combined with active and passive movement of the joints. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation, decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion.

DEEP TISSUE

Deep tissue or myofascial massage addresses specific muscle groups to bring release of tension and pain and to improve the muscles' ability to function easily and comfortably. Each area of muscle is lengthened, then broadened or "spread" and finally separated from surrounding muscles.

ONCOLOGY MASSAGE

Oncology massage is the modification of massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with complications of cancer and cancer treatments. Benefits include improved relaxation, sleep and immune function as well as relieving anxiety, pain, fatigue and nausea.

LYMPHATIC MASSAGE

Lymphatic massage is a specialized technique that consists of very gentle and rhythmic movements. Each stroke moves in the direction of the lymphatic flow to encourage the movement of fluid out of a congested area of the body.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE

Gentle and nurturing, this massage focuses on the needs of the mother. Massage can relieve the discomforts associated with pregnancy. It increases the mother’s awareness to her areas of tension. Massage enhances the relaxation experience.

POSTPARTUM MASSAGE

Massage in the postpartum period helps bring the body into it’s pre-pregnancy alignment. A massage within the first week of postpartum is rejuvenating. It increases circulation in the tissues, relieving sore and achy muscles.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot stone massage uses smooth, heated stones. It is a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage. The heat helps tight muscles release. The therapist uses traditional strokes of Swedish massage while holding a heated stone. The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along your spine, or in the palms of your hand, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body and enhance the relaxation response.
